French Bistro Travels

I love furniture that can travel...yes, you heard it right...
travel around the various rooms in our home.

This little French bistro table is such a piece.

There's something about it that exudes charm...the rusty top?
the three slender curved legs?

It just seems to work in so many places.

Recently it moved from the screened porch
to a guest room upstairs.

The metal texture and airy style added
just the right accent piece to lighten up the room.

I love how the antique grain sack helps to soften
the metal tabletop, without covering up
all the fabulous patina.

The grain sack is from Ann's shop Sutton Place Designs.
(love those wide red stripes!)

Ann and I engaged in a little business swap that
you can read about Here.
She is such a delight to work with!

And yes, I do know the people in the old photos...

They're my relatives...my very dear grandparents before they married.

Blessings,

Mary Alice

  1. I love this whole vignette. Great chippy table, wonderful grain sack, and love the old frames especially the empty one on the old books.

  2. That's why I love tables like this, Mary Alice! They can move from room to room when needed {or just when you want a change}. Those frames are wonderful and perfect for the pictures of your grandparents.

  3. Hi Mary Alice,

Who wouldn't love to spend time in this gorgeous guest room! I love the idea of 'French bistro travels' as a theme, as this is a room for people who are travelling, who are away from their house, and these special touches spell comfort!

    Have a great weekend!

  9. I think this looks like a perfect little corner. I love to study all the details in photos and noticed the market basket with magazines in it. I have a french market basket on my Christmas wish list.

  10. Your table is simply beautiful! I love moving things around, too, as we stop "seeing" them after awhile. I love Ann's creations, too and I see a lot of it around Blogland. Her business is doing very well!

Thanks for a peek at your vignette, it's really lovely!

    XO,

  17. What a great little table. When I got married, my mother-in-law told me how important it is to have small tables rather than a great big coffee table. She was right. Small tables are so versatile.

  26. The whole vignette looks so cozy but I love the rag rug most of all! Altogether, it's the perfect place to snuggle up with a good book and a cup of tea. This is my first time visiting your blog and so I also want to say how much I enjoyed the post with the sweet linen nightgown.
I'll be back for another visit !
