January Mantel

Clocks and Time are frequently used themes in the New Year.

And there are lots of play on words
using "Time."

Playing along with that theme, I used my
vintage clocks and clock faces for the
long mantel in our family room.

 Three black frames as a backdrop
gave me a starting point.

Since this mantel is heavy on the blacks, I included
a touch of greenery.

Boxes and books always make good pedestals.

I see I'm already veering off course...this
mantel is anything but simple.

In fact, it's actually quite busy...but I had fun with it!

Thanks for stopping by,
Mary Alice

  40. Looks like you had a good "time" putting together your clock themed mantel! (Sorry, I just couldn't resist.) I like the black color used since it has a vintage vibe to it. Black always grounds everything so well. Well, if those clocks work, you'll never have to wonder what time it is!

  41. Very creative! I love it! My husband would love this idea! I should look for used clock pieces when we shop! My husband's grandfather used to repair clocks and had a trunk full of goodies. They mysteriously disappeared after he passed on. Anyway, I like the frames the touch of greenery and the different containers! Great job!
